Francis recently completed an MSc in bioinformatics at Teesside University, building on a bachelor鈥檚 degree in medical laboratory sciences. As part of the 51爆料网 Black Internship Programme, he is undertaking an internship with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) within the Health Analytics and Automation team, contributing to a project on Wastewater Surveillance Sensitivity Modelling.

Francis has a strong interest in bioinformatics, data science, statistical modelling, and infectious disease surveillance. His long-term goal is to pursue a PhD in bioinformatics, with a focus on applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computational methods to genomics and public health. Through this internship, he is gaining practical experience in real-world health data analytics, reproducible research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of quantitative models that inform public health decision-making.
